NOVA class of 2002

Congratulations to all of our NOVA alumni who are graduating from high school this year! The following students from the class of ‘02 have been recognized as National Merit Finalists: Aaron Bray and Amie Feero; and Commended Scholars: Anna O’Brien, Ashley Campbell-Ragsdale, Terra Schaetzel-Hill and Sam Zyck. What a class!!!

Mitra Akhavan will be attending Western Washington University in the fall to participate in their track program.

 

Aaron Bray is looking forward to attending Yale University in the fall.   Aaron was also named a Washington State Scholar and received the Olympian newspaper’s Award of Excellence in Academics for Olympia High School.

 

Amie Feero, also a Washington State Scholar, will follow her older siblings Brett (NOVA class of ’98) and Erin (NOVA class of ’00) entering the Honors College at WSU.  She wants to go into sports medicine.

 

Sascha Fischel-Freeman is going to be taking a year off next year, moving into a house with some friends, working, and doing lots of traveling. He might be spending a semester in Latin America teaching ESL classes and pursue other interests that he hasn’t previously gotten the chance to explore.  He eventually plans to go to college and study Journalism, Spanish, and Latin American Studies.

 

Jessica Havlak is entering Stanford in the fall.

 

James Marshall graduated from NTHS in March and has been attending Evergreen State College studying forensic science.  He hopes to eventually work for law enforcement or as an air traffic controller.  This year James worked for H&R Block during the tax season!

 

Stephanie Nelson is going to the University of Oregon.  She has been accepted to the Architectural School.

 

Anna O’Brien will attend the UW, majoring in Botany.

 

 Aaron Ragsdale plans to attend University of Portland.

 

Ashley Campbell-Ragsdale is going to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.  She has been accepted into the Honors College.

 

 

Terra Schaetzel-Hill is going to Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon next year.

 

Elizabeth Townsend is entering Whitman to study environmental science and/or fine arts.

 

Andrew Wark will be attending Duke University in their engineering program.

 

Samantha Zyck is entering USC in the fall.


NOVA class of 1998

 

Katie Disharoon is graduating from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Wa and is applying to a naturopathic medical school in Portland (National College of Nauropathic Medicine - NCMM).

 

Brett Feero graduates on May 6.  He will intern for Micron in Boise during the summer and return to WSU in the fall for graduate school.  He was named top Computer Engineering Student for his class!

 

Kris Havlak graduates from Stanford in June and plans on starting his own gaming business and staying in the South Bay area. 

 

Emily Iverson is graduating from Gonzaga University with a degree in Physical Education and hopes to obtain her certificate to teach elementary education.

 

Levin Kagy is finishing his BS this year in Management of Information Technology.  He is taking all his classes on-line through the University of Phoenix, as he is working full time for PACCAR (manufacturer of diesel trucks).  He is in the IT department working on computers and networks at their research & development facility in Mt. Vernon, WA.

 

Darby Moeller is graduating from Seattle University and wants to move to NYC to work.

 

Katie O’Rear is graduating from Marist University in New York with a degree in business administration.  She is hoping to live and work in New York.

 

Reid Psaltis will graduate from WWU this summer and looks forward to being out of school for at least a little while!

 

 Logan Schaetzel-Hill is living his dream of being a “ski bum” and has been skiing and working at Big Sky Ski Resort in Montana.
