Academically talented students will respond positively to a rigorous, relevant, and varied learning environment. NOVA School offers a strong, rigorous curriculum designed for very bright students. Over the years, however, the program has developed into much more than a strong academic program. The richness and value of the three years at NOVA have become known as the “NOVA experience” and includes much more than a strong curriculum. Families have told us repeatedly that while they are attracted to the school by the academic program, once their children are a part of NOVA they come to value the school community, the culture, the rich variety of experiences and the respectful emotional and social climate as much as the academics. Fundamentally, the NOVA School learning environment addresses the special social, emotional, and physical needs of highly capable middle school students, as well as their academic needs. NOVA teachers strive to help middle schoolers develop leadership skills, understand ethical behavior, appreciate adolescence, and value diversity within the school community.
