Fund raising at NOVA
The reality of independent schools is that while tuition is significant, it only covers 85% of the costs of providing this type of education. The remainder is covered through contributions from families and friends of the school. Raising tuition high enough to cover all of the costs would deter some qualified students from applying to NOVA, and would certainly increase the amount of financial aid requested.
The admissions process at NOVA School is “need blind”; therefore, we accept students based on their academic qualifications regardless of the family’s financial status. We have consistently provided financial aid to 20% of the student body. Even in the best of economic conditions this is a daunting task, but we feel it is integral to the fabric of NOVA School.
We concentrate on two major fundraising efforts throughout the school year.
