"My teaching philosophy and why I like teaching math is intertwined. Many people, and I heard this more than once today, think they're bad at math. They are not. People have issues with math because they either have a math learning difference or their education failed them at some point in time. My classroom should be a safe haven for everyone where they can understand this fact and increase their knowledge."

Fun Fact #1 — I've gone through my first bucket list (things like solstice in Stonehenge, candlelight mass in the Colosseum, Shakespeare at the Globe Theater, tilted at windmills in La Mancha, been inside the Pyramids at Giza, safari in Kenya) and have moved on to creating a new one. I just trekked Machu Picchu in November and spent several days in the Amazon.

Fun Fact #2 — I play guitar and build acoustic guitars.

Fun Fact #3 — I speak five languages: French, Italian, Spanish, Norwegian, and English.

I choose to work at NOVA because the kids are awesome to work with, excited to learn everyday, and they ask questions!
