NOVA's Affordability

Tuition

Tuition accounts for approximately 80% of NOVA’s operating budget. The remainder is generated by current and alumni families, faculty/staff, trustees and friends generously contributing to fundraising efforts such as the fall NOVA School Fund Campaign, spring Gala event, as well as supplemental revenue streams.

NOVA Middle School's Tuition is inclusive and covers text books, all field trips, lab supplies, etc. The only items not covered by tuition are lunches and NOVA Spirit Gear.

NOVA Middle School current tuition is: $17,612

We offer three payment options to help make NOVA Middle School accessible.

  1. One Payment
  2. Two Payments
  3. Ten Monthly Payments

Financial Aid

We are committed to making NOVA accessible to qualified students regardless of their financial circumstances. This year, we awarded over $281,000 in financial assistance to approximately 39% of our student body.

Financial aid is determined based on demonstrated financial need when comparing the student’s educational expenses with the family’s ability to pay. Admission and financial aid decisions are made independently.

The highest award was $15,250, the average was $8,267 and the lowest award was $1,000.

The financial aid application process results in financial aid being allocated in a fair and equitable manner. Our policies attempt to ensure that each family is subject to the same guidelines and procedures. All financial assistance is confidential, and all financial information supplied by families is held in strict confidence. NOVA follows the guidelines established by the National Association of Independent Schools Principles of Good Practice for Financial Aid Administration. Recipients must reapply for financial aid annually.

  • The FAST application fee is $43 and non-refundable. It is payable with a credit/debit card. If you do not have a credit or debit card, or are unable to pay the application fee, please contact Paula Bjornson, our business manager, at pbjornson@novaschool.org

Financial Aid Determination

Our Financial Aid Policy, established by the Board of Trustees, ensures that each family is subject to the same guidelines and procedures. NOVA uses FAST (Financial Aid for School Tuition) to help determine the contribution a family can make towards educational expenses. The FAST application requires that families submit their most recent tax return and other financial information. Families may also submit a letter detailing any extenuating circumcumstances that will inform the NOVA Financial Aid Committee about the amount of award requested by the family. NOVA School uses the results from FAST as a guideline in allocating aid award.

Annual Procedure

Families must apply for financial aid each year. The school’s financial aid procedures prioritize returning students. Families previously paying full tuition experiencing a change that prevents payment of the full tuition for the following year may apply for financial aid with the same priority as other returning families who have received financial aid in the past.

Financial Aid applications must be submitted before the financial aid deadline through FAST. Financial Aid awards will be determined and notifications made by early April.
