What to Expect When You Apply

1

Complete an Admissions Application

We are accepting applications for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades on a rolling, space available basis. If you would like to apply, please fill out the Application for Admission.

Please note: The 2024-25 application for admissions does include a number of important things. You will need the email of current teacher(s) to send the teacher recommendation form. We will also need the current school's office email and fax number to request records. Additionally, the application will need to hand write a one-page answer to a question that will need to be scanned (or photographed) and uploaded to the application before it can be submitted.

Be sure to sign up to receive information about upcoming events.

2

Pay the Application Fee

When you submit your application, you will be required to pay the non-refundable application fee of $100.

We will not consider any applications until the application fee has been submitted.

3

Schedule a Visit

We welcome prospective students to attend a half-day of classes on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday morning from 8:30am to 12:30pm. The 2024-2025 Application for Admission will ask you for possible dates for the visit. If you would like to schedule a visit before completing the application, please contact the Admissions Director. Parents may also schedule a visit to tour the school or meet with Head of School Tiffany Price.

4

Take an Admissions Test

All NOVA candidates are asked to take a Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) to measure learned reasoning and problem-solving skills in three different areas: verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal. The test takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete and is conducted virtually from your home computer unless other arrangements are made.

All of our group testing dates have passed. The 2024-2025 Application for Admission will ask you to list several possible dates for testing. The Admissions Director will then contact you to schedule.
